1000 Lights for Peace is an international dance and music program dedicated to peace. During this program, the winners of the annual Mahatma Gandhi Week contests (for middle and high school students) for Speech, Poster, i-Tribute/Multimedia and Creative writing are awarded their prizes. The winners of speech contests will deliver their inspiring speeches, to reassure us that the future is bright. Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston has been organizing this event since 2006 to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary annually. Many dignitaries such as Congressman Al Green, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Fort Bend County Judge KP George and Consul General of India Aseem Mahajan are expected to address the audience.
The Walk For Peace will be held in person and also virtually. In person it will be at Hermann Park on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in the morning.
