Chandani

Since 2019, Chandani has added her witty Bollywood opinions to the Afternoon Rush Hour on Thursdays with Sunil T and Amit G.  She had previously interned with Masala Radio back in 2006 while still in college studying Journalism and Business, then had a busy life graduating, developing a career as a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company.  She still project the blush of a newlywed, and her enthusiasm infectious, her sense of fashion and makeup envious!  Hearing her on the radio – easily switching from Hindi – English – Punjabi, one would never guess she was born and raised in Houston.  Chadani often thanks her parents for instilling in her a deep love of Indian Culture and of course Bollywood.  She constantly promotes that “we are one desi community, and I dont believe in divisions based on India / Pakistan, Hindu / Muslim / Sikh.  We are stronger together.”

Chandani prefers traditional Bollywood or Indian Music over fusion or desi rap, save a few hits from Badshah or Honey Singh.  After seeing Good Newzz, she has become a Diljit fan, but also adores Qawalis and Sufi Music.  And of course, she is the epic party girl, “I could dance to Indian Music ALL NIGHT!!  Chandani is a die-hard Shah Rukh Khan fan, thought she appreciates the absolute genius in Amir Khan’s work.  Favorite singers include Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan anytime, all day, followed by the “amazing” Sunidhi Chauhan & Shreya Ghoshal. “I also love Guru Randhawa, Arijit Singh, Neha Kakkar and Badshah. From the 90’s and 2000’s I still love Song Nigam, Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik.  And of course Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is a master in my eyes.”
